Good nutrition is very important for a successful weight loss and management as well as for good health. The major advantages of good nutrition are reduction of blood pressure, improvement in cholesterol and rise in overall energy. A proper nutrition is very essential for adopting a healthy lifestyle and making a life long.

Some ways how to stay slim with good nutrition

1. Include variety of foods

Adding a variety of foods to your diet is very essential. Because no one food provides all the nutrients the body needs. Choosing certain foods in moderation is the key to a successful long-term slimming. Choose a diet which is high in soluble fiber that includes barley, legumes, oat bran, and most fruits and vegetables.

2. Opt for nourishing fresh foods

If possible, buy fresh foods and stay away from processed or package and convenient foods like fast food. Convenient and packaged foods are frequently higher in fat and sodium content. For an easy slimming, pack a home cooked lunch to work in the place of eating out.

3. Eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day

Vegetables and fruits are packed with useful vitamins, fibers and antioxidants. They are also low in calories and help to maintain your calorie count low down. Top five healthiest foods include salmon; soy and soy products; green vegetables such as chard, kale, collard greens, broccoli, bok choy, green beans, asparagus; berries and whole grains. Researches show that almonds contain fiber, healthy fats and protein; and assist in weight loss and cholesterol control.

4. Avoid sugary drinks

Stay away from juices, cream, pop and sugar in the tea or coffee. Opt for drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. In addition to providing hydration to your body, it will also help you feel full. Replace soda with water and Green Tea.

5. Do not skip meals

Frequently eat small meals that help balance your calorie intake all through the day. It also keeps the blood sugar level balanced. Try to eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than eating three big meals. Opt for meals which are nutritionally dense, high in hunger suppressing fiber and low in total calories. In addition, it must be a lean protein source that supports muscle growth, appetite control and a fast metabolism.
