Also giving up the pleasure of crunch chips on the way home after a day of work, can be a challenge.
To find the most effective solutions to these unhealthy habits have to do only one introspection. Ask yourself: “Why I like to eat popcorn at the cinema – because is salty, crunchy or to banish boredom before the movie start?”
Once you have done which is really why you follow these unhealthy habits, will be much easier to fight to remove them. You just have to adopt a diet that is more low-carbohydrate or to find a way to distract your attention from the food cravings. One of the ways to correct these habits is to eat regularly and eat healthy foods.
Concerns and real solutions to correct:
Habit: eat ice cream while watching TV.
Solution: The good new is that when you managed to control the consumption of carbohydrates, you will see a reduction in food cravings. However a bowl of ice cream diet from time to time is not as harmful to your weight. Try to replace the habit with a healthier habit: for example, instead of eating ice cream while watching a movie, better exercises on a bicycle and keep your hands busy. Movement and exercise can reduce your desire to eat. A study by Harvard University in the United States of America showed that middle-aged men who increased their physical activity, reduced the hours spent watching TV and stopped to eat between main meals of the day, managed to lose weight up to 3 kilograms.
Habit: You always eat popcorn or other snacks to the cinema or sports events.
Solution: Eat before going to the cinema or games. Try to replace popcorn with a protein bar or a peanuts. And if you arrive early to these events, read a magazine to distract you from food.
Habit: You eat whenever you’re stressed.
Solution: Try to calm down using relaxation techniques (drawing, stretching or meditation) or even a walk around the neighborhood. By exercising you control over consumption of carbohydrates and thus maintain a stable blood sugar.
Habit: chips, grissini or biscuits on the way home after a day of service.
Solution: If you know you can not resist the temptation, keep one of your snacks from work, especially for the way back home and of course a water bottle. It is important to eat regularly and at well-defined intervals. Otherwise, it is more likely to be hungry all day.
