A protein shake can be a part of your breakfast, although depending on your exercise level and the times of the day you get the exercise it might not be enough.
Most people I have met have the feeling that a liquid breakfast is not a substantial meal and that can cause problems as they, during the day, feel like they have to make up for the “lack” of breakfast, and that is when they tend to overeat.
If you are concerned about the protein intake and want to get a breakfast low carb/fat, you can research meals in which you can use your protein powder as a substitute for flour etc, instead of substituting your entire meal, which might not work out and leave you hungry.
For breakfast, sometimes i have low carb chocolate protein powder and you can make delicious pancakes with it. I can have 3 of these delicious things and they are way under 100 calories each (and prepare them with raw brown sugar) with about 3g of fat and 6g of sugar. If you use sugar substitutes (I do not particularly recommend that) it is even less of course. you can contact me for the recipe if you are interested, it is super delicious.
