If you have a busy career and often rush meals. You drink a lot of coffee at work and a cigarette accompanies most of your cups of coffees. And you wish to stay slim while pregnant. Yes! It’s still possible. During pregnancy, the last thing you want to do is “limit your food intake.” it is vital to consume sufficient calories to get the proper nutritional intake that you need for a developing fetus. It is beyond important to eat a healthy diet that is well-balanced and includes ALL of the food groups daily. For women at a normal weight at the time of conception, it is suggested to gain between 25-30 pounds for a healthy pregnancy. So, how to stay slim while pregnant?

As far as coffee, you should not drink any more than about 2 cups of caffeinated coffee daily or no more than about 300 milligrams of caffeine daily. Cut down on the coffee and drink water instead! Talk to your doctor about cutting your caffeine down. For people that consume large amounts of caffeine daily, there can be withdraw symptoms such as fatigue and headaches that accompany the cut back. However, you need to cut down so speak with your doctor on how you can do this safely.

If you are a cigarette smoking, that is a habit you should most definitely quit all together when pregnant and breastfeeding. Smoking can be very dangerous to the baby and cause all type of complications. If you feel you cannot do it on your own than ask your doctor for suggestions that may help.

As far we recommend that you schedule an appointment with a registered dietitian who can sit down with you and educate you on proper nutritional intake during pregnancy as well as help you to understand proper calorie intake and weight gain.

you must remember at all times though, that your babies health and safety are a very high priority so don’t overdo things.

Also I recommend to read e-book: “Pregnancy without Pounds” by Michelle Moss.
As Michelle Moss points out: “It’s true that…most pregnancy books are all about the BABY. They will tell you to eat an extra 300 calories and to exercise – but that’s about it. It took me a long time to find information about exactly WHAT I could or should do with any detail”. The answer is in Pregnancy without Pounds.
