If you like a sweet hot drink, but want to avoid sugar, I have a tip – liquorice root and peppermint. You can probably get it at your local wholefood or health food shop, or specialty tea places.
Ok, so it’s not finest Ceylon black tea with milk, BUT it has a great flavour and the liquorice contains a compound that is some ridiculous number of times sweeter than sugar but has no calories. AND you don’t add milk so it’s a bonus for no fat or lactose, AND it’s got no caffeine. Also supposedly good for stomach upsets. Just as nice cold too. Liquorice roots can actually also be chewed on like a lolly if you’re so inclined – me personally I prefer the tea so I get fluids and a full stomach as well.
One warning – if you drink too much it can raise your blood pressure, so if you have high blood pressure you might want to avoid it (I tend toward low BP so I actually play on that factor when I’m getting more dizzies than usual). Also not recommended for pregnant women for the same reason.
